Daniele Piattelli graduated in Florence as a concert pianist, after which he completed a three-year postgraduate course in piano with Bruno Canino at the Accademia Marziali in Seveso. He also received a degree in composition from the Milan Conservatory, a post-graduate degree in piano accompaniment from the Manhattan School and has studied orchestral conducting with Jorma Panula, David Gilbert and Joseph Colaneri. He has worked as a répétiteur and conductor at various opera houses and universities, including Arena di Verona, San Francisco Opera Center, Caramoor Festival, Palm Beach Opera, Sarasota Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Tokyo New National Theatre, Yale University, Fletcher Institute, MSM, Royal Opera Academy Copenhagen, Music Conservatory Cagliari and Teatro Regio di Torino. He has given numerous concerts, among others for Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto, the Italian Cultural Institute Copenhagen, the Goethe Institute in Florence and the German-Italian Cultural Association Cagliari. He recorded the sonatas Op. 49 and 106 by Ludwig van Beethoven for Italian Radio 3.
